CAN YOU EXPLAIN HOW IT WORKS?

Locate an Olive Oil Farmer you’d like to assist on the interactive map, and then select an olive tree to adopt. We can also select a tree for you if you wish.
If you click on this link, you can adopt a tree.

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

As a result, your tree will be given a name of your choosing.
In addition to the certificate of ownership, you’ll also receive a photo of your tree and its surrounding area. That’s what we’ll be using.
3 or 5 liters of your own Extra Virgin Olive Oil will be delivered to you after the harvest. October is harvest time. You will recieve your EVOO before Christmas.

CAN I COME AND SEE MY TREE?

YES! If you’d like, you’re welcome to come and see your tree. You can even help with the harvest and take a tour of the mill where your olive oil is cold pressed before you buy it. A place to stay is available upon request. Just off the coast of the Navarino Bay in Greece, you can spend your vacation in a beautiful part of the country.

F.A.Q

It is all about people and quality of life and olive oil

Farmers get a better price for their precious olive oil by using Nestor EVOO. Their oil will be worth more than twice as much, which is a fair exchange for a high-quality olive oil.

A lot of olive oil farmers in Greece’s southern part are struggling. “Marketing” is a term they’ve never heard of before. There’s a mill that grinds olive oil, so they sell theirs to that mill. As a result, they have to pay a lot of money in order to make up for the low price.

You can count on Nestor to deliver 3 liters of oil from your tree every year. Filtering, packaging, and shipping are all done by us after we collect the olive oil from the farmer and bring it to the mill.

Yes. However, there is a need for clarification….

Greece’s largest olive oil producers, the majority of whom sell their olive oil in mega-bundles to Italy, are currently selling their olive oil to the mill in bulk. Why?

We do this because the Italians sell a lot more oil than they can produce themselves.
In fact, they have the best marketing strategy and brand recognition of any nation that produces olive oil.

Greek olive oil is therefore exported in large quantities to Italy. Eventually, the Pope makes his way to the ship and makes a cross with his hands. Italy oil has arrived! ha ha.

A big problem:

Not all Italian oil is good.
You need an acidity below 0.8 if you want to label it ‘Extra Virgin Olive Oil’.
If you have an oil with acidity above 0.8 to 1.2 you can label it ‘Olive Oil’
If you have an acidity higher than that, you better throw it away or make soap.

So what happens with the Greek EVOO in Italy?

The Italians can mix it with their inferieur Olive Oil that is harvested in januari or later, that has an acidity higher than 0.8. The Greek Olive Oil has an early harvest with acidity between 0.2 and 0.4. So the Italians can mix it with their late harvest, big quantity Olive Oil with an acidity of 1.2 or higher, and after mixing they get an acidity of 0.8 and they can label it ‘Extra Virgin Olive Oil’.

If you adopt your own Olive Tree, you will not have this problem anymore.
You will get the best of the best EVOO that you can share with friends and family.

Yes! We ship your olive oil to the US. You will receive it in november or december.

As we say, the farmers are poor and do not have the money to feed the trees or treat them with expensive sprays. Now, this is a good thing! If trees are not watered, not sprayed, not feed, they produce the best and most healthy ollive oil. But of course you have less harvest. It is quality over quantity.

Your olive tree needs to be cut twice a year, this is hard work but it cost no money.

  1. Do not water the olive tree
  2. Do good cutting so the tree can ‘breath’
  3. No food to the tree
  4. Early harvest, October, November

Why?

The olive tree goes in to ‘survival mode’ and will make a lot of Polyphenols. If you harvest the mostly unripe olives at the right time this part of Polyphenol is very high and this keeps the oil fresh for a long time and it is very good for your health!!

Read more about low acidity and Polyphenols in Olive Oil.

You receive 3 ltr. ‘Bag in Box’ organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the highest quality olive oil in the best packaging for olive oil.

You may wonder why the Bag in Box is the finest packaging for olive oil.

Because olive oil has two major foes. That’s light and oxygen.
So, if you pack olive oil in a tin can, it will be protected from light, but after you use the oil, oxygen will enter the tin can and oxidize the oil slowly and steadily.

As a result, if we package in a ‘Bag in Box,’ there is no oxydation by light or oxygen. You can fill a little bottle with the oil you need, and the Bag in the box will shrink as the amount of oil you take out decreases. As a result, the Bag is devoid of both light and oxygen.

So get a lovely bottle your allready have and utilize the bag-in-box system to refill the bottle you use in the kitchen and on the table.

I HAVE MANY OLIVE TREES ON MY WISH LIST.
