At Nestor Sustainable Farming, our goal is to promote an olive-growing model that is economically viable, ecologically sustainable, and allows the crop to fully fulfill its social, cultural, and ecological duties.

To achieve this, we focus on sustainable production of high-quality olives and olive oil with minimal or no residues, while also safeguarding ourself and our agricultural workers from the hazards of agricultural chemical handling. We prioritize the long-term stability and homeostasis of the ecosystem and work to maintain and promote biodiversity by prioritizing natural regulatory processes.

To achieve these goals, we implement a number of strategies on the farm, including using integrated pest management techniques to reduce the need for synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, implementing water-saving technologies and practices, using organic fertilizers and soil amendments, promoting biodiversity on the farm, and participating in certification programs to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and high standards for production.

I own approximately 1000 olive trees, which are spread across my land in a natural and harmonious way. I do not water my trees, which might seem counterintuitive or even reckless, but I have my reasons.

I believe that this way, my trees can produce a smaller but more concentrated and flavourful harvest. I do not aim for quantity or mass production, but for quality and uniqueness. I want to create a product that is not for everyone, but for those who appreciate the rarity and the excellence of a handcrafted and artisanal product.

I respect and follow the customs and the practices of my ancestors, but I also adapt and update them to the realities and the challenges of my time.

I am Petros, an olive farmer, and I am proud of who I am and what I do.

Alexi

I am Alexi, a simple farmer who lives in the village of Schrapa, also known as Eliofyto. I have been working the land all my life, planting, tending, and harvesting olives with my own hands. I am a poor farmer, but I am a good farmer. I do not use any chemicals or tricks to grow my olives. I do not water my trees or spray them with pesticides. I do not do anything to my trees that is costly or artificial. I believe in the power of nature and the wisdom of tradition.

As a result, the product from my olive groves is pure and of high quality, but limited in quantity. My olive oil is not for everyone, but for those who appreciate the authenticity and the flavour of a natural and homemade product. My olive oil is not for mass consumption, but for connoisseurs and gourmets who appreciate the craftsmanship and the passion of a small and independent producer.

I am proud of my olive oil and the reputation it has gained over the years. I want to stay true to myself and to my roots, and to preserve the integrity and the authenticity of my olive oil.

Kostas

I am Kostas, an ambitious Greek olive farmer who lives in a small village named Sgrapa near Gialova in the southwest of Greece. I inherited a small olive grove from my father, who passed away several years ago.

I work hard and put all my energy into my olive grove, planting, tending, and harvesting olives with my own hands. My olive grove prospers, and my olive oil becomes known for its quality and taste.

I am proud of what I have achieved, and I am grateful for the support and the love of my family and my community. I am happy with my simple and fulfilling life, and I am confident that I can face any challenges that come my way.

Dimitri

My name is Dimitri. I am a Greek olive oil farmer who lives in the small village of Gialova. I have been working the land all my life, planting, tending, and harvesting olives with my own hands.

Despite the hard work and the many challenges I face, I love the land and the olive trees, and I take great pride in producing a high-quality oil that I sell to local markets and abroad.

I am a poor man, but I am a good man. I live with my wife, Maria, in a small and modest house that we built together many years ago. We raised three children, all of whom have left the village to seek their fortune in the city. Maria and I are now alone, but we are happy in our simple and self-sufficient way of life.

I am grateful for what I have, and I am content with my simple and fulfilling life.

Stavros

I am Stavros, an olive farmer who lives and works in the Peloponnese region of Greece. I come from a long line of olive farmers, and I have inherited a small but fertile olive grove from my father, who passed away several years ago.

I am the youngest of five siblings, and I have always felt a sense of responsibility and a desire to honor my father’s legacy.

I have worked hard and devoted myself to my olive grove, learning and experimenting with different techniques and methods to improve the yield and the quality of my olives. I have also invested in modern equipment and technologies, such as drip irrigation and mechanization, to make my work more efficient and less labor-intensive.

I am not a rich man, but I am a satisfied man. I have a wife, Maria, who supports and loves me, and i have two children i love very much.
